Rustins Wood Dye is a fast-drying, penetrating stain that does not raise the grain and is ideal for both interior and exterior use on all types of new bare wood or surfaces that have been stripped.
Supplied in a number of shades, which may be intermixed to make an infinite variety of natural wood shades, the dye is perfect for doors, skirting boards, staircases, cupboards, wardrobes, tables, chairs, worktops and picture frames.
During preparation, the wood must be clean, dry and free of wax, previous coatings and contaminants. Using a rag or brush, apply an even coat and wipe off any excess.
A single application is normally sufficient, but additional coats may be added for a darker colour. Usually dry within 6-8 hours under normal conditions, depending on the absorbency of the wood. Additional coats may be added after eight hours typically, but preferably overnight if applying acrylic water-based varnishes.
Coverage is up to 24 sq.m per litre, per coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.
Rustins Wood Dye (Solvent Based) is sold in 2.5L containers.
Full product data sheets and safety data sheets are available on request.
