Rustins Quick Dry Red Oxide Metal Primer is a low-odour, high-performance paint that contains anti-corrosive additives for use on both bare and galvanised metal and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Ideal for gates, tanks and all ferrous metal surfaces. The paint has been pigmented with micronised red oxide to give good opacity, good exterior durability and corrosion prevention.
During preparation, the surface should be clean and free from rust and grease. Remove existing finishes with Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper. If the metal is rusty, remove loose rust with a wire brush, then treat surface with Rustins Rust Remover.
Use a brush and apply evenly. Apply primer liberally, ensuring the surface is covered completely.
A single coat is usually sufficient, but a second may be applied if required. Sand lightly between coats if required.
Touch dry in approximately 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
Allow two hours approximately before re-coating, depending on temperature and humidity. Do not apply outdoors if rain imminent, humidity is high or below 10C.
Coverage is 10 sq. metres per litre per coat depending on the surface.
Rustins Quick Dry Red Oxide Metal Primer is sold in 2.5L and 5L containers.
Full product data sheets and safety data sheets are available on request.
